“The people think I’m odd. So, I know how it feels to be different. And I know how lonely that can be.”
-Belle, Beauty and the Beast
Welcome to Horse Egg Literary's second issue! Here you will find beasts in all shapes and sizes, from a tiny frog prince waiting for a kiss to an exquisite Centauress. To some, beasts are a fear of the dark, or a horseshoe crab. For others, creatures can be banana slugs, or our own human halves. We invite you to leaf through Bestiary, to devour some mythical metaphors, storybook stanzas, and forgotten fables.
Thank you to everyone who submitted their enchanting works of poetry and their beastly visual pieces. We cannot thank each of you enough for sharing tiny pieces of yourselves with us; it is an honour we don’t take lightly. We have thoroughly enjoyed creating this second issue for all of you, and are looking forward to the issues to come.
For now, please enjoy these tales as old as time,
Arielle & Kristen
